Durham University Library and Collections and Durham University Botanic Gardens are part of the wide portfolio of venues and attractions across the university. The University is home to internationally important collections from across history and around the globe. These venues include Durham Castle, Durham university Botanic Garden, the Oriental Museum, the Museum of Archaeology, the Art Collection, Durham World heritage Site Visitors Centre, Durham University Archives, Historic Libraries and Special Collections. β―We welcome visitors to our museums and galleries and garden. These venues are located in two clusters, at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and to the south of the city, our venues are open year-round and are open to all. Our Venues: https://www.durham.ac.uk/things-to-do/venues/ The Learning and Engagement Team work across all of these venues delivering our Learn programme of session, activities, workshops and events with a range of audiences. Our Schools and Home Learning programme offers a range of fully taught sessions and support for primary, secondary, sixth form and college students from across the County and region. This includes visiting our venues, our Collections Outreach service in schools and organisations, curriculum enrichment, work experience, widening participation in higher education and supporting our post-16 research access to our library and collections. The second strand is our Families and Lifelong Learning programmes, which offer a range of activities, workshops and family friendly events centred in our collections and communities. These include our weekly family activity programme, under 5βs group, faith-based events, under 12 Archaeology Club, Creative Age art group for people living with Dementia, book club, art programme and other bespoke offerings for lifelong learning and community groups.
