National Youth Choir

National Youth Choir is a national champion and community for choral singing for young people from the widest range of backgrounds. We passionately believe choral singing is for everybody and work to remove barriers preventing young people taking part.

We run four choirs for more than 900 participants from around the UK aged 9-25, who demonstrate exceptional potential and passion for singing. Choir members take part in inspirational residential courses and projects, and enjoy singing in concerts and performances nationwide. Our choirs also record music tracks and videos for release on streaming platforms and YouTube. In recent years, our choirs have also been seen or heard on BBC1, ITV, BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and Scala Radio.

We run training programmes for Emerging Professional Artists – our Fellowship, Young Conductor and Young Composer Programmes – which help to create the next generation of choral leaders, singers, musicians, conductors and composers.

We visit schools and educational settings around the UK, all year round, creating pathways for more young singers to develop their potential. We lead lively and engaging singing workshops for students of all abilities, and we assist teachers and music education networks with their development through support and partnership.
